Tithe Barn
The Brief
Conversion of garage to annexe
Built
Completed 2003
Description
Following previous work in the grade II listed barn, the attached brick and flint garage has been converted to form a self-contained annexe.
The space has been completely opened up, with a stainless steel spiral staircase and gallery forming the focus to one end. Beneath the gallery, which creates a sleeping platform, a new bathroom and cloakroom are cleverly accommodated around the flow of the staircase.
The high level of specification and use of maple throughout creates a very clean looking space, with the self-contained mini kitchen concealed behind large glazed sliding doors.
